August Ministry Reports

Carol Vance, CAROL VANCE UNIT; On August 1, 2023, I had the honor of ministering at this unit and kicked off Celebration Month where they have services every day for August. Angel was the leader of the service, gave his testimony of how the Lord changed his life, and opened in prayer. Then their worship team Winds of Change with 10 men lead the service into the presence of the Lord. Several of the inmates gave their testimony and encouraged us all. I gave a message on ‘Developing A Relationship With God’, using Jesus’ prayer in John Chapter 17:23, “Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me” and how the Holy Spirit has the power to make the changes God wants us to make. There were over 50 men in the service and all were attentive, then Angel closed the service in prayer. I am impressed with this unit as in all my years in prison ministry this is the first time I have been involved in a month-long celebration of Jesus.   Pastor John Hammond

Clemens unit On Aug 6th Chaplain Shelia Johnson went in with a team to hold services at this unit as Pastors Leonard and Cynthia who faithfully serve this unit could not this month.  Apostle Ray Felder brought the word from John 14:6, “Do you know the way?”

Estelle unit  On Aug 6th, Chaplain Shelia Johnson brought a team to this unit where Shelia brought the message.

DUNCAN UNIT, Aug 12th, 2023, Dan Groves ministered at this  unit with 37 men in attendance. The worship team set the atmosphere for acknowledging the presence of God with us.  Dan introduced the Hope For All In Jesus Prison ministry and gave an extensive testimony of his own salvation and the changes in his life that were noted by others who knew him before Christ entered his life, and spoke of some of the many miracles he has seen since that day in  1972.

WAINWRIGHT UNIT On Aug 20th Chaplain Shelia went with her team to this unit and Apostle Ray Felder brought the message, “Love one another” from John 15:11-14

CAROL VANCE Unit  On August 25th, Dan Groves went into this unit as part of the celebration month.  Upon arrival inside, I was told we couldn’t hold the meeting because of power outage in the Chapel.  One of the inmates took my hand and we prayed.  They  soon found a room we could use.  Praise God.  The message was titled trust but verify or verify then trust.  This was about studying The Word to know and judge the spirit, and indulge in the Word until it is firmly yours. The Holy Spirit is faithful to teach. Prov 25:14; 1 Cor 2:10; 2 Tim 2:15

CAROL VANCE Unit  On August 29TH, Chaplain Shelia went in for Dan Groves who had traveled to Missouri for his son’s funeral.  Her message was, “The Lord Is” from 2 Samuel 22: 2-4.  God Bless you sister.  This meeting wrapped up the Celebration month which Pastor John kicked off on the 1st.
