On November 24th, we returned to the Gist Unit where I delivered a sermon during the first service, focusing on Matthew 15:32-38, “Being Thankful.” Apostle Felder then led the second service with a message from Psalm 34:1-11, “Oh Taste and See That the Lord Is Good.” A total of 91 men attended. We witnessed one individual recommit to their faith and five others embrace Christ as their Savior. Glory to God!

Chaplain Johnson, Dr. Kitchen, Apostle Felder, and his wife, Minister Johnnie Mae Felder, were in attendance. We conducted two services at this facility. I, John Hammond, recently visited the Stringfellow Main Unit for the first time and was impressed by its stunning chapel—unlike any other I’ve seen. While older prisons often have chapels, newer units typically do not. Curious about its history, I learned from Wikipedia that the unit opened in July 1908 as part of the Ramsey Prison Farm, incorporating former plantations. Dan Groves and I ministered to 67 men in attendance. The worship team began with praises, ushering in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Dan introduced the ministry and offered words of encouragement, while I delivered a message on the New Birth using 1 Corinthians 5:17.
