Dr. Kitchen and Chaplin Johnson attended the Gist Unit in Beaumont for an 8 a.m. service and a 1:30 p.m. service. The choir opened with three songs, and I ministered in song. Dr. Kitchen’s message was “When God’s Hand is Upon You, Satan Cannot Win” (Job 2:1-8). This message was an on-time, must-have, anointed word of God. At the 11am and 1:30pm services, Chaplain Johnson delivered two messages: “Help My Flesh is Trying to Kill Me” (Rom 7:14-25; 8:13) and “Earnestly Contend for the Faith” (Jude 1:3). The Unit Chaplain and his assistant welcomed us. The room was so packed that some had to be turned away. The Chaplain mentioned he would arrange for an overflow room next time. Dan Groves made his first visit to this Unit, where the men were encouraging and attentive, eager to hear from God. We engaged in worship, and I shared the idea that the Shekinah Glory was present, as the Lord’s presence filled the chapel. Dan Groves visited the Unit and met with 27 eager men seeking guidance from The Lord. Though the worship was brief without a team, we expressed our praise and gratitude vocally. After departing from the trustee camp for the first service, we were joined by Keely and Dennis Ware.
