March 23, 2025, Larry Gist Unit, Beaumont, TX

On March 23rd, Dr. Cassandra Kitchen, Minister Johnnie M. Felder, and I visited the Larry Gist Unit in Beaumont, Texas. We began our gathering with scripture and prayer. Due to the absence of musical equipment and musicians, we invited the men to join us in singing the uplifting song “Waymaker,” filling the entire camp with their voices. Dr. Kitchen delivered an impactful message titled “Kicking Against the Prick Comes with a Cost,” based on Acts 9:1-9. The attendees were remarkably attentive, absorbing every word she shared. By the end of the service, two men committed their lives to Christ, while two others recommitted themselves to their faith. Hallelujah! If you have any music equipment to donate to our ministry, please contact me. Thank you.

Incarcerated men seated in a prison chapel raise their hands in worship as a ministry team leads music and prayer from a small stage. A wooden cross hangs behind the speakers, and barred windows line the room, capturing a moment of spiritual connection and hope within confinement.
