January 19, 2025 – J.D. Wainwright Trustee Unit – Lovelady, TX

Chaplain Johnson, Dr. Kitchen, and Minister J. Felder made a visit to the camp at 11 a.m. and later to the North Chapel at 3 p.m. The praise and worship team performed the apostle’s favorite song, “Don’t Let The Devil Ride,” in his honor. The gathering was powerful, with nearly 400 men present, resulting in a standing ovation. Dr. Kitchen delivered a compelling sermon titled “God Don’t Need No Cowards,” based on Revelation 21:7-8, at both locations. As a result of this inspiring message, seven men decided to dedicate their lives to Christ.

Dr. Kitchen’s impactful sermon is certainly worth hearing more than once. On January 26th, he shared this same message with the men at the Gist Unit during the 1:30 p.m. service. This time, two backsliders reconnected with their faith and returned to Christ. Such moments remind us of the power of these gatherings.
Hallelujah!

Incarcerated men seated in a prison chapel raise their hands in worship as a ministry team leads music and prayer from a small stage. A wooden cross hangs behind the speakers, and barred windows line the room, capturing a moment of spiritual connection and hope within confinement.
